This is another ‘quickie’. It began life last week when someone made me aware of what’s happening in Cwmparc, Treorchy, a community in the Rhondda Fawr.
In a nutshell . . . the new owner of a substantial property at the end of a terrace had put up heavy gates, denying locals access to the mountain behind. Access they’d enjoyed for generations. After protests, the gates were removed, but then they returned, this time with guards in attendance.
◊
WHERE ARE WE?
Cwmparc lies in a side valley running west off the main valley. You can locate it in the maps below, with the property in question – 1 & 2 Ger-y-Coed – circled in red.

To help you further, here’s a Google image showing both properties (centre) before the gates were put in place, clearly showing the lower part of the contested access.
Click to open enlarged in separate tab
The properties were up for sale at the end of 2023. And sold early in 2024. The registered owner is Adam Lee Drew; certainly, his name is on the title documents. Though I’m not 100% convinced he is the owner.
Having mentioned title documents, I should explain there are quite a few relating to this plot. I only downloaded two because the Land Registry recently increased its prices. Which means a title document with plan now costs £14, up from £6.
(How the hell is anyone allowed to get away with a 133% increase?)
Anyway, here’s the first of the two titles I downloaded, WA212230, it covers some of the property including the debated access. And reads in part (dated 2016):
The registered proprietor claims that the land has the benefit of a right of way with or without vehicles over the land shown hatched in blue on the title plan.
The land hatched in blue is the disputed access. Does what you read above infer there’s a public right of way?
The second, CYM398171, shows land lower down the hill, taking in one, possibly two, of these new houses. So I’m assuming the part boxed in green has been removed from the original title.
I think there are three possible explanations for what’s happening at Vicarage Terrace.
First, access; it’s about the land above Cwmparc, land managed by Natural Resources Wales. And if that’s the case, then we could be looking at yet more wind turbines. Possibly even solar panels, for the Rhondda is globally renowned for the 16 hours of sunshine it enjoys every day.
But this makes little sense, for the access past Ger-y-Coed would never accommodate the kind of vehicles needed to transport turbines and blades.
Which doesn’t rule out wind turbines. Perhaps the gates are to deter locals from seeing the preparatory work being done up on the mountain. And if it is turbines, then a new road will have to be cut somewhere to take the vehicles I just talked about.
If this is what’s happening, then Adam Lee Drew is fronting for someone else.
The second possibility is the property itself, 1 & 2 Ger-y-Coed. A substantial layout that could easily house 40 or 50 single individuals. Maybe more, at a squeeze.
Ger-y-Coed outlined in red on both Google Earth maps. Click to open enlarged in separte tab
I’m referring now to young men with no good reason to be here, who are a threat to public safety and social cohesion, yet are welcomed by Globalist puppet politicians – for those very reasons!
If this is the plan, then it could be Drew taking the heat for someone else, or he could be flying solo.
The third possibility is that this is nothing more than the new owner of the property being bloody awkward. In which case, Rhondda Cynon Taf council needs to pull its finger out and immediately declare the contested access a public right of way.
In fact, RCT could do that no matter which of those suggestions is correct. Even if it’s something else entirely.

GLOBAL SUPPORT FOR THE GATES, OR . . . ?
Maybe what made up my mind to put out this piece was the reactions I found on the Rhondda Leader Facebook page. To explain . . .
I’m in contact with a well-informed individual who told me that her father, in Treorchy, had heard nothing about the Cwmparc furore. So I Googled ‘Rhondda Leader’, the local weekly ‘paper.
Of the six Cwmparc access articles on the Facebook page yesterday, one had 7 comments, one had 10, one 64, one 542, one 670, and this one 2,300 comments. Is this a record for the Rhondda Leader?
So I focused on the report that garnered most responses. And something started to strike me as odd. And that was so many comments supporting the actions of Adam Lee Drew in blocking off the access.
And in terms of their geographic spread, these comments came from northern Scotland all the way down to southern England, even from overseas – but few from anywhere near Cwmparc!
Then the closer I looked at these supportive comments, the iffier some of them looked. Here’s a small selection. And these were all found among the first few comments to the piece I just linked to.
Another that caught my eye was the contribution from ‘Keith Jackson’
Click to open enlarged in separate tab
So, I checked out his FB account. It suggests that ‘Keith Jackson’, if he exists, lives in the land currently being liberated by President Trump and his team. (Glory to them!)
There was even a supportive comment from an ‘Alan Barsteward‘. Which drew applause from ‘Chris Mutch‘, who claims to live in Cardiff.
Click to open enlarged in separate tab
I was drawn to the third by the Welsh name.
Click to open enlarged in separte tab
And again, I went to the FB account. Where I encountered this!
Click to open enlarged in separate tab
As I say, I don’t know a lot about Facebook, and I only scratched the surface of the comments. But I saw enough to suggest there’s an organised campaign to support Adam Drew, his gates and his guards.
But who’d organise such a campaign over a dispute between neighbours? It suggests there might be rather more to those gates, and the guards, doesn’t it?
Latest news is that there was a protest yesterday, and there was a good turnout considering the bad weather.

CONCLUSION
As I was writing this, I slowly dismissed the idea of Drew, a Rhondda boy, buying these properties, to live in himself, surrounded by neighbours he’d pissed off.
What’s panning out tells me he won’t be living there. Which takes us on to the other options – ‘renewables’ and housing illegal aliens.
The first I also dismiss for the reasons given above. The remaining possibility made me think of an earlier example.
Cast your mind back to events at the Stradey Park Hotel in Llanelli a while ago. Almost 100 staff were sacked because the Home Office wanted to bring in over 200 ‘asylum seekers’, all young men.
There was near-unanimous opposition. Though politicians and media tried to discredit worried locals by claiming those protesting were ‘far right’ and ‘outsiders’.
Click to open enlarged in separate tab
Stradey Park Hotel was an eye-opener for anyone who still believed in politicians, or trusted the media. Thankfully, the locals won.
One factor I’m sure was that, from a security perspective, the Llanelli site was on a busy road, making it too accessible. It was almost impossible to keep protesters away.
Not so at Cwmparc. At Ger-y-Coed it would be easy to restrict and control access. In fact, Cwmparc itself could be sealed with a couple of choke points.
If I’m right, then someone in Corruption Bay, and also at RCT council, knows what’s planned. (And it’s why I’ve submitted a FoI to the Home Office.)
So let’s have openness. Because too much of what happens in Wales is hidden from us by politicians and civil servants who, at the macro level, serve Globalists and their corporate friends, helping them exploit and wreck Wales.
At the micro level, priorities are determined by pressure groups, composed of leftists, anti-white racists, ‘environmentalists’, sexual deviants, and some who can only be labelled – and I say this without wishing to offend – certifiable fucking nutters.
So let’s have some uncharacteristic honesty from a corrupt political class and its scheming bureaucracy – tell us what’s planned for Ger-y-Coed in Cwmparc.
If they won’t do the decent thing then, instead of asking concerned locals how many different ways they can say, ‘Ooooh, isn’t it awful!’, let our media redeem themselves.
UPDATE 27.02.2025: This report just appeared in WalesOnline. The owners (un-named) claim that a number of problems — basically, anti-social behaviour – left them no option but to install the gates.
Observations:
It’s reasonable to assume that these issues would have been reported to the police, the council, local politicians, Natural Resources Wales. The owners might even have reached out to the local community in Cwmparc. Did they?
Even if the claims are true, 3m high solid fencing, motorised gates, and guards, seems like an over-reaction to what was after all just anti-social behaviour. And a very expensive reaction!
I’ve been following recent protests in Ireland against large numbers of unvetted male migrants being imposed on unsuspecting communities. My interest is due to a long-standing affection for Ireland and its people, together with a keen interest in Irish history.
Which explains what you’re about to read.
♦
BACKGROUND
I suspect Ireland is being used as a testing ground by Globalist schemers. Specifically, through persuading or pressurising the Irish government and wider establishment into accepting mass immigration.
This has promoted hostile reactions in many cities and towns. From Dublin to small towns in Connacht most of us have never heard of.
Emboldened by support received from the media, NGOs, and elsewhere, the Irish government has decided to go for broke in an attempt to silence popular opposition to its open borders immigration policy with draconian legislation.
The mainstream media leapt to the Irish government’s defence. Musk and Trump are wrong, while lesser mortals criticising unrestricted immigration and the problems it brings are elsewhere denounced as “racists“, “fascists“, “far right“, etc.
The image is that of Michael Collins, imprisoned at Frongoch, then leader of the IRA during the War of Independence, but killed by the anti-Treaty IRA in the Civil War. Click to open enlarged in separate tab
The proposal still has some way to go before it becomes law.
But if it becomes law then it will be a sad day for free speech. For those behind this attack on freedom were so desperate to silence just about everybody that diverged from the official narrative that they neglected to actually define ‘hate’!
Which might mean that ‘hate’ will be whatever the state, the NGOs, the media, or the World Economic Forum, decides it is at any given time.
Let’s be blunt, legislation like this – for we see it elsewhere – is designed to silence indigenous White populations being forced into accepting demographic and social change on the orders of the UN, WEF, subordinate bodies such as the EU, and governments at national and sub-national level.
And it’s one-way legislation. For let’s again be blunt, no Muslim is ever going to be arrested for calling an Irish person a “Christian bastard“; no Black African for using the term, “White c**t”.
It’s worth thinking about developments over there because what’s happening in Ireland may have ramifications way beyond that country.
◊
‘REFUGEES’
Let’s have a little background, to establish what I’m talking about, and to help us avoid the confusion that is deliberately encouraged by those I’ll be discussing.
The discontent, protests and, on occasion, violence, has been caused by the political establishment of the Republic, its bought media, paid-for NGO bleeding-hearts, unhinged Leftists, and various useful idiots, insisting that the thousands of able-bodied young men now being brought into Ireland are genuine refugees.
Everyone knows they’re not, but no one is supposed to say it. Anyone who does say the truth – and that includes mothers pushing buggies – will be vilified as “racists, etc., etc”.
The Irish ‘far-right’ on the march. Click to open enlarged in separate tab
To make a fraught situation even more combustible, politicians, civil servants and others will tell a community it’s to receive Ukrainian refugees, “Sure, it’ll be women and children” . . . then the trouble starts when busloads of healthy young men arrive who have never seen the steppe under snow.
From the official side there is dishonesty and deception all along the line. But they can get away with it because they control both the political system and the media.
And it is purest Guardian. For rather than deal with the issues, and Irish people’s justifiable concerns, Irish journo Colin Gannon uses the article to stress links between the far right in England and what he claims to be their Irish counterparts.
Presumably in an attempt to reinforce his message he says some rather silly things.
Click to open enlarged in separate tab
The suggestion that it’s unfair to view young males, “because of their age and gender“, as being more problematic is especially silly. Just ask yourself who’s more likely to be violent and to engage in crime – is it children, women, older people, or young men in large groups and far from home?
Gannon then suggests that working-class communities are not “integrating refugees“. But why should they, seeing as the state makes no attempt? Unvetted young males are simply dumped on working-class communities. Often without warning and usually without consultation.
This Guardian article would not have been written a decade ago. I say that because it’s another example of how liberals and socialists now hate the once-eulogised White working class.
Which then explains why they pin their hopes for changing Western society on bringing in a new population. No matter how disruptive doing that that might prove to be.
Because of course middle class liberals and socialists – for there are few working class socialists left – will be largely insulated from the problems their zealotry causes.
◊
THE PERFECT STORM
In addition to being lied to over ‘refugees’, Irish people are angry at the influx because the health service is creaking and there’s a severe housing crisis.
Ireland has one of the most acute housing shortages in the world. It has the lowest number of dwellings per head in the OECD, and average house prices are now eight times mean income (compared to three times as much in 2010).
In the article I’ve linked to you’ll also read, just after the clip above: “The situation is so bad that 70% of young people in Ireland say that they are considering emigrating due to the cost of living, which is mainly driven by housing costs“.
When young Irish people see ‘refugees’ being housed ahead of them, they become frustrated, and they become understandably angry. Parents also become angry at the prospect of their children having to emigrate.
For emigration has painful memories for the Irish. Economic prosperity was supposed to mean that mass emigration was a thing of the past.
As I’ve just suggested, we shouldn’t even be talking about emigration, because Ireland is now a prosperous country, with a per capita GDP and a standard of living above that of the UK, and well above third world Wales.
Which makes me wonder why those running a rich country can’t organise the housing sector better.
Or is an insufficient supply of housing also part of the agenda?
◊
THE WHY
The mystery remains as to why Irish politicians inflict these problems on their people.
For there is no upside to bringing in tens of thousands of unvetted men who have, to date, committed many murders, countless rapes and lesser sexual offences, and all manner of other crimes.
There are now machete-wielding Nigerian street gangs terrorising Irish towns and cities. Roma tribes run criminal empires on Irish streets.
It’s all very well arguing that “only a minority” commit crimes, but none of these crimes would have been committed if unvetted migrants had not been allowed into Ireland in the first place.
Those arriving are not, as one officially-connected joker suggested, all doctors and engineers who will be a benefit to the country. People are quick to guess that the specimen they see shitting in the street is not a graduate of the Medical University of Vienna.
So why are the major political parties in favour of the unrestricted immigration of people they know are not refugees?
To answer that I’m going to throw out a theory that might explain why Ireland seems to be targeted by the Globalists. For we can be reasonably certain that the WEF has a hand in it.
But before that, let’s set the scene.
◊
THE HOW
Ireland is a small, homogenous, but developed and centralised country. Which makes it very easy to control by manipulating its political establishment and media.
In addition, Ireland has a worldwide profile that is largely due to the emigration of recent centuries, certainly since the Famine of the 1840s.
Because so many Irish went to the USA . . . because Hollywood ‘adopted’ the Irish . . . because it’s almost mandatory for US presidents to visit and be photographed sipping Guinness (however contrived their Irish link) . . . because people around the world drink in what they think are ‘Irish’ pubs . . . because fountains run green on St Pat’s Day . . .
Click to open enlarged in separate tab
Fact and carefully cultivated fiction combine to give Ireland a global profile like no other small country.
A profile enlarged in a darker way by the violence of The Troubles in the 1970s and 1980s.
But all combine to give a global image of a small country populated by a proud and pugnacious people who have fought all-comers to maintain or regain control over their land and their national destiny.
A perception that makes Ireland the ideal exemplar for open borders and unrestricted movement of populations. For if the Irish, with their history, are welcoming an influx of strangers, “Why are you being so racist”?
But how would it be achieved?
◊
THE WHO (NO, NOT THEM)
Well, let’s look at this article from the Irish Examiner in March, which tells us, “Ireland’s reliance on large multinational intellectual property has resulted in GDP for 2022 exceeding the EU average by over 130%.”
The Irish economic miracle owes a great deal to lowering the rate of Corporation Tax from 40% to 12.5%, a change phased in between 1996 and 2003. This, plus an educated, English-speaking workforce, is what attracted the multinationals.
Elsewhere, the article tells us:
Multinationals including Apple, Facebook, Pfizer, and Google, among others alone accounted for almost 56% of the so-called total value added to the economy, up from 53% in 2021, the CSO said. Sectors dominated by multinationals, including information and communications, expanded greatly.
The four companies mentioned are stalwarts of the World Economic Forum. Apple, Facebook and Google censor or take down anything too critical of the Globalist agenda. Those three are currently fighting a losing battle trying to stem the flow of bad news for Pfizer and other manufacturers of Covid ‘vaccines’.
But what if they and other multinationals contributing so much to the Irish economy threatened to leave unless the Irish establishment accepted the Globalist agenda and agreed to WEF demands on open borders?
Of course, I could be wrong. Maybe Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and Sinn Féin have adopted their position on immigration without any pressure from anywhere.
Genuinely believing that by encouraging into Ireland Albanian gangsters, Muslim fanatics, Nigerian street gangs, Roma crime clans and all the rest, they’re doing the right thing for Ireland.
But if that’s the case, then Ireland has real problems.
◊
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?
I see a resurgent Irish nationalism emerging. I say that because those protesting against what they call a ‘Plantation’ (with all that that term means in Ireland) have no hesitation in invoking the memory of those who fought against British rule.
Now this should be Sinn Féin territory, but that party is compromised by its support for the establishment’s ‘refugees’ scam.
Three of the executed leaders of the 1916 Rising. L to R: Padraig Pearse, Thomas Clarke, James Connolly. Click to open enlarged in separate tab
In fact, Sinn Féin is in a very difficult position altogether. It may still be the largest party in the Republic, but a poll published Saturday says 75% of those questioned think Ireland has taken in too many ‘refugees’, with SF supporters especially unhappy.
Small wonder that ‘insurgent’ parties are emerging to capitalise on the disconnect.
What I also notice is that the struggle we see developing is no longer focused solely on ‘refugees’. For as the bigger picture emerges, and people understand better the Globalist agenda, other things start falling into place.
I’m talking now of the wider agenda that demands a strategy of de-growth to combat a non-existent ‘climate crisis’; that undermines the agricultural sector in order to control food production and supply; that promotes sexual deviance and targets children; that encourages anti-White racism; that attacks the foundations of Western civilisation such as nation, family, faith, culture, traditions.
Which, I suspect, explains the reference in the tweet below to “degeneracy and totalitarianism“.
Tricolours at every demonstration of resistance to Globalism. But it’s rejected by the Left-Globalist opposition – which still wears masks. Click to open enlarged in separate tab
Earlier I said, “what’s happening in Ireland may have ramifications way beyond that country“. I said it because what we are witnessing in Ireland is, in effect, the World Economic Forum, United Nations and European Union being challenged.
The Globalists’ anti-Western agenda is being challenged everywhere. We Welsh should study how it’s being resisted in the Netherlands, Italy and, especially, Ireland.
Because those buffoons in Corruption Bay are fully signed up to The Agenda.
Anyone expecting an armchair strategist’s take on the fighting in Ukraine should look elsewhere. This is a very personal attempt to explain how I believe we arrived at war between Russia and Ukraine.
This is a litany of lies, mistakes, personal failings, and geopolitical manoeuvrings.
♦
HISTORY AND RUSSIA
Perhaps the only time Russia enjoyed near-unequivocal support in the West was when the Grand Armée was driven out in 1812. Even then, the West celebrated, not because we’d come to love Russians, but because we feared Napoleon.
After that, as England sought to extend her holdings in India she increasingly came into contact with Tsarist Russia pushing south, in what became known as ‘The Great Game’.
So hostile was the West to Russia – and so rehabilitated had France become – that Britain and France could even ally themselves with Ottoman Turkey against Russia in the Crimean War 1853 -1856.
An alliance of Protestants, Catholics and Muslims against Orthodox Russia. At a time when Muslim Turks were still enslaving Christian Europeans, including Russians.
Though when it became obvious that Kaiser Bill was shaping for a fight, and he’d roped in old Franz Joseph, then Russia proved a necessary eastern ally against Imperial Germany and the Hapsburg Empire.
That war over, and Russia now Communist, the Western powers and Japan invaded, but Lenin remained in power.
With Communism secured the Soviet Union became the enemy, admired in the West only by deluded leftists.
The role of ‘principal threat’ was temporarily usurped in the 1930s by Nazi Germany. Even so, had Germany focused its aggression exclusively on central and eastern Europe and invaded the USSR, it’s unlikely the West would have intervened.
Following WWII we entered the Cold War, and a series of proxy conflicts and situations from Korea to Cuba to Vietnam to Chile to . . . (pick any one from dozens).
Something often forgotten from this period is that the ‘Cuban Missile Crisis’ came about because the USA had placed ICBMs in Turkey, which bordered the USSR. Kennedy and Khrushchev eventually agreed to remove their missiles from both Turkey and Cuba.
The US military at this time contained a number of senior officers who sincerely believed that a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the Soviet Union was the best form of ‘defence’.
They looked almost comical when Stanley Kubrick gave them roles in Dr Strangelove. Though some of them were almost too off-the-wall to caricature.
USAF General Curtis LeMay, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965. Click to open enlarged in separate tab
The Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in December 1979 to support a friendly regime, giving the USA its chance to arm fanatics and boost opium production. The kind of thought-through strategic decision-making – like supporting Iraq against Iran – all too common in recent US foreign policy decisions.
As US allies skinned alive Russian conscripts and took Afghanistan back to the Middle Ages the USA claimed another victory for democracy and progress.
A further Western dividend was that the Afghanistan debacle contributed directly to the disintegration of the Soviet Union between 1988 and 1991.
This encouraged NATO, a Cold War alliance set up to defend Western Europe from Warsaw Pact aggression, to move eastwards!
Bush and Baker lied to Soviet president Mikhail Gorbachev. The USA, EU and NATO have been lying to Russia – and to the rest of us – ever since.

UKRAINE INDEPENDENCE 1
Before moving on to more recent events mention must be made of the Ukrainian Famine, or Holodomor, in which 3 – 4 million Ukrainians died during Stalin’s forced collectivisation of agriculture in 1932-33.
There was definitely an anti-Ukrainian aspect to the project, but Stalin wasn’t really fussed who he killed. This article suggests ‘that about 20 million died in labour camps, forced collectivisation, famine and executions.’
The demise of the Soviet Union saw an attempt at a reconfigured federation of sovereign states. A kind of east European EU. This was aired by Gorbachev at the Communist Party Congress of July 1990.
Ukraine supported joining the Union if she had first achieved independence.
This prompted a last-ditch attempt by hard-line Communists to save the Soviet Union through the attempted coup of August 19, 1991; which led to the Ukrainian parliament agreeing a Declaration of Independence on August 24, 1991.
Boris Yeltsin (left, holding paper) thwarts the attempted coup. Click to open enlarged in separate tab
Ukraine became independent in December 1991 following a referendum on the August Declaration. In a turnout of 84.18% some 92.3% voted to approve the Declaration of Independence drawn up a few months earlier. Roughly 55% of ethnic Russians voted for independence. Though turnout was lower in Russian-speaking areas.
Immediately following the vote both Boris Yeltsin(President of Russia) and Gorbachev congratulated Ukraine on voting for independence . . . as a first step towards a reconfigured federation along with Russia, Belarus, and some Central Asian republics.
The independence vote was able to paper over a crack that would soon become evident because it satisfied moderate Ukrainian nationalists without alarming ethnic Russians and Russian speakers.
But there were elements in the West looking to exploit divisions.
◊
UKRAINE INDEPENDENCE 2
I suggest you find time to read this account of Ukrainian politics in the period of the October 2010 presidential (run-off) election and the 2012 parliamentary election. These saw victories for Russia-leaning Viktor Yanukovych and his Party of the Regions.
Though these elections also revealed that the ‘crack’ I just referred to had now become a chasm. Ukraine was divided. Geographically divided.
Click to open enlarged in separate tab
The ostensible trigger for the subsequent violence seems to have been President Yanukovych’s refusal to sign – or his delay in signing – an EU association agreement in November 2013.
The protests against Yanukovych soon began. With Western media focusing almost exclusively on anti-Yanukovych events in Kyiv, thereby creating the impression that the whole country was against the president.
This was obviously not true. Given that he had been democratically elected not long before there was widespread support for Yanukovych. But this support was mainly outside of Kyiv, and went largely unreported by the Western media.
Regime change was effected by the USA and NATO on February 22, 2014 when Viktor Yanukovych was forced to leave Ukraine.
This set in train a number of events, not least Russian military occupation of Crimea and the secession from Ukraine of territory in the east. Here’s a useful timeline for events in that period.
And there was violence elsewhere. In May 2014, dozens of Yanukovych supporters were killed in largely Russophone Odesa / Odessa by far right thugs, many of whom had travelled south as football fans.
In April 2014 Hunter Biden, the current US president’s younger son, joined the board of Burisma, Ukraine’s largest oil and gas company. This was at a time when Burisma and its founder Mykola Zlochevsky were under investigation for corruption in a number of jurisdictions. Including England.
Apart from being the son of the then vice-president it’s difficult to know what use Hunter Biden was to Burisma.
The younger Biden was trading on his father’s name to further enrich himself through companies in Russia and China.
Then, as the brown stuff started moving towards the fan with Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin looking into Burisma, Biden Senior stepped in to protect his son by insisting that Shokin be sacked. Which he was, to be replaced by a man with no legal background.
The whole business stinks. There are even allegations that President Biden himself benefitted financially from his son’s business dealings. Which would be fitting in a way, because Hunter Biden would have struggled to get a job as a janitor if he wasn’t his father’s son.
Knowledge of nefarious dealings in Ukraine and elsewhere was widespread before the 2020 US Presidential election, but all was confirmed with the emergence of Hunter Biden’s laptop.
UPDATE 14.04.2022: After reading this fascinating article by Azra Dale it’s only right that I suggest that Mykola Zlochevsky was a front man for Ihor Kolomoisky, who seems to have a penchant for using puppets. Among them the current president of Ukraine and the son of the US President.

HUNTER BIDEN’S LAPTOP 1
In April 2019 Hunter Biden left a laptop to be repaired in Wilmington, Delaware. He was said to be in an ‘inebriated’ state when he called at John Paul Mac Isaac’s repair shop. He never went back to collect the laptop.
Eventually Isaac investigated the laptop’s hard drive. He found incriminating e-mails relating to Hunter Biden’s business dealings that traded on his father’s name and influence, also videos of the younger Biden’s drug taking and cavorting with prostitutes.
The news of the laptop was broken by the New York Post in October 2020, weeks before the Presidential election. And was immediately and unanimously rejected by the liberal media, Big Tech, FBI and CIA as ‘Russian disinformation’.
Twitter took down accounts daring to link to the New York Post story. Twitter even locked the account of the New York Post itself. (Reminder: the NYP is the oldest continuously published daily newspaper in America.)
This closing of ranks, this denial of the truth, put Joe Biden in the White House.
Today, with Biden’s presidency in tatters, the midterm elections already lost, the liberal media has decided the laptop story was true after all. New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, they’re all admitting what’s been known for a long time – the Bidens may have more than a few skeletons in the closet.
And the worst may be yet to come. It’s claimed there’s 450 GB of deleted material. And if that wasn’t bad enough, there are thought to be two other laptops (Hunter was a very careless boy); one is said to be safe with the FBI, but the other is believed to be in the hands of . . . Russian drug dealers with whom Hunter Biden partied!

HUNTER BIDEN’S LAPTOP 2
The message from the Hunter Biden laptop saga is one I am becoming increasingly familiar with. And it’s worrying.
The Woke left has persuaded itself that those ranged against it are evil. Not just wrong. Not just misinformed. But evil. That being so, then the Righteous are justified in saying and doing anything to combat this ‘evil’.
This took a new twist just this week when former Congressman Joe Walsh fabricated a statement about Ukraine and attributed it to Fox TV host Tucker Carlson, a bête noire of the left. This was relayed by thousands on Reddit, Twitter and other platforms.
When it was pointed out to Walsh that Carlson had not said what had been attributed to him, his response was, ‘No, but it’s the kind of thing he might have said’.
Thanks to the repackaged Marxism of identity politics we are in a post-reality world where ‘truth’ is whatever those who scream loudest say it is.
Which brings us back to Ukraine.
◊
A PLEA FOR HONESTY
The USA, the EU, and NATO broke promises to Russia and made promises to Ukraine that Russia regarded as threats to her own security.
Then, to further promote Western interests, a democratically-elected leader was ousted in 2014 in yet another US-engineered regime change, with the muscle provided by, among others, Nazi militias, which now seem to be part of the Ukrainian army.
Fighters of an Azov unit with some of their flags. Is that the NATO flag on the left? Click to open enlarged in separate tab
This is what President Putin talks of when he refers to ‘denazification’. He’s not making it up.
And through their interference these Western agencies irreparably fractured an already divided country.
And further corrupted an already corrupt country. With the Biden family playing its role.
So let’s have no more black and white interpretations from Western politicians, no more propaganda masquerading as news from an already discredited Western media.
Let’s hear no more talk of every civilian casualty being a ‘war crime’, or even ‘genocide’! Because when a government arms its civilians those civilians risk being viewed as combatants. And please, let’s see fewer staged photographs using teddy bears.
As with Hunter Biden’s laptop, the truth will out eventually. Let’s make a start tomorrow.

GOOD v EVIL? WHICH IS WHICH?
The war in Ukraine is presented as a struggle between Western liberal democracy and something evil. The truth is more complicated.
We in the West are now surveiled 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by CCTV, by our mobile phones, and by gizmos answering to stupid names like ‘Siri’ and ‘Alexa’.
What we are allowed to say online, what we are allowed to read, is determined by the brainwashed underlings of billionaire nerds in Silicon Valley. And their ‘fact-checkers’.
We are expected to line up like sheep to be injected with untested vaccines because of a virus developed under mysterious circumstances in a Chinese laboratory. Politicians like that demented woman in New Zealand have used this virus to put us all under house arrest and close down whole countries.
We must accept that women have penises and men have cervixes. To deny this will bring down the wrath of those who preach freedom and practise tyranny. Fanatics who have political support from Corruption Bay to the Oval Office.
We are being pushed towards a cashless society – ‘cos only crooks need cash, innit!’. The true motivation was revealed not so long ago by Pierre Trudeau’s little boy when he froze the bank accounts of those who dared oppose him.

That was a warning in 300-feet-high flashing neon letters with an accompanying wall of sound.
Our children are being taught that they’re evil because they’re White. Leftists and liberals support this demonisation of a race oblivious to the historical precedents. Justified, they argue, because Whites are ‘privileged’.
The Nazis said the same thing about the Jews – ‘too much money, too much influence’. Hardly surprising that anti-Semitism is back in vogue with the Left and we see the Comrades marching in step with the Jihadists.
Because both wish to destroy Western civilisation. Partly through undermining from within, partly through unlimited immigration from without.
The reality is that never before have individual and national liberties been under such threat as they are today in the Western – particularly the Anglophone – world. Because never before have those seeking to take away our freedoms possessed such power.
If I was a Russian I’d do everything I could to keep my country free of this repacked-for-the-twenty-first-century Marxism.
I wish I hadn’t felt the need to write this, but I believe Russia has been forced into a conflict she would have preferred to avoid.
Due to its history, Russia is understandably suspicious of the West. And the West has lived down to Russia’s expectations time after time. But still, it needn’t have come to this . . .
Not if the USA and NATO had kept the promise made to Mikhail Gorbachev.
Not if the USA and NATO hadn’t removed a democratically-elected President of Ukraine.
Not if the USA and NATO hadn’t encouraged Nazis and gangsters in Ukraine.
My real worry now is that there are in the USA and NATO people not a lot different to those ridiculed by Kubrick in Dr Strangelove – maniacs wanting full-scale war with Russia.
I hope I’m wrong. Or, if I’m right, then I hope to God they can be slapped down.

P.S. I have been critical of the USA for a reason. That’s because I think the USA is still the greatest country on Earth, and the best hope for mankind.
But the USA is in a bad place right now. Liars, hypocrites, and the seriously unhinged are calling the shots. They increasingly control the government, the media, and the education system. Thankfully, decent people are fighting back.
That fightback must intensify and win its first major victory in November’s midterm elections. Because if the USA can’t be saved from itself then we’re all fucked.

After the Jake Berry saga it’s time to move on, though we stay on Ynys Môn for the first couple of pieces, before pushing on, even visiting the city of my dreams.
This is another ‘biggie’ but as usual with this format it’s broken down into digestible portions. So there’s no need to rush, you can take your time. Enjoy!

YNYS MÔN
As we used to hear in the old black and white movies, ‘Dead men tell no tales’. Maybe not, but on Ynys Môn dead men do put in planning applications.
In the previous post, Jake Berry MP, Part 4, I mentioned a property that had swum into view in the course of my investigations into Berry’s little empire. This property may have nothing to do with him, but it became interesting in its own right when I realised that a planning application was submitted in August 2019 – by a man who died early in 2017.
Let me explain, for those who may be unfamiliar with the planning system, that you don’t need to own a property to submit a planning application. A builder, an architect, a relative, even a prospective buyer, can submit a planning application, but this must be done with the consent of the owner. Which presupposes that the owner has not departed for the celestial realm.
Now in this case on Ynys Môn the owner was long dead, and those submitting the planning application knew he was dead. We know they knew because they’d put his name on the planning application with ‘(Deceased)’ alongside it!
Which is difficult to explain; the Will was a straightforward transfer, so why didn’t the person who’d inherited the property put her name on the planning application?
Another curious feature – though it obviously links – is that the Land Registry title document still shows the late Mr Cuddy as the owner. Which might explain why, after putting out a tweet asking why the council had accepted this application from a dead man, I got a Twitter response from the Land Registry.
The LR reminded those in the thread that there is no legal obligation for anyone to update a title document. Which is unfortunately correct. But I believe we are all entitled to know the ownership of property. And money being laundered through property transactions is another reason for making immediate re-registration mandatory.
Does the so-called ‘Welsh Government’ have the power to legislate in this area? And if so, does it have the balls to do what needs to be done?
On the planning matter, I cannot believe that a dead man can be named as the applicant on a planning application. Which calls into question why Cyngor Sir Ynys Môn accepted that planning application.
Again, if this is legal, it should not be. And if the ‘Welsh Government’ can legislate to outlaw the absurdity of dead men making planning applications, then it should do so. Pronto.
Land Registry documents not updated after three years and planning applications in the name of a dead man suggest something is not quite right.

YNYS MÔN 2
I don’t want to paint Ynys Môn as Wales’ Sicily, but strange things do seem to happen there. One I dealt with fairly recently was the sale of the Shire Hall in Llangefni to Tristan Scott Haynes.
To put it mildly, Haynes has a ‘colourful’ past, but the county council saw no problem in selling him their old Shire Hall. And the sale was completed 22 August 2019 with money Haynes had borrowed from Together Commercial Finance Ltd.
The caption tells that Haynes is managing director of Chief Properties Ltd and he also runs a “successful haulage firm”.
Chief Properties was set up in August 2018 for the purpose of buying a property like the Shire Hall. The accounts tell us that the company has fixed assets of £201,942 (the Shire Hall) but is in debt to the tune of £12,460.
As for the “successful haulage firm”, well the next meeting of shareholders will be delighted to learn that Falcon Transportation Ltd‘s total net assets come to £21,282. Roughly what they were the year previously. A truck?
Go back to the caption under the photograph and you’ll read, “(Haynes) had never been to Anglesey before identifying Shire Hall as a possible location”. Which suggests that he found it online. And that any building, anywhere, might have done.
But for what purpose?
As far as I’m aware no work has been done on the Shire Hall, certainly no planning permission has been applied for, so why did Haynes borrow money to buy a building that he seems to have lost interest in?
And if the county council has washed its hands of the Shire Hall don’t the burghers of Llangefni worry about the fate of one of their town’s prime assets?

RHODRI MORGAN AND THE WDA
It’s generally agreed that despite certain failings the Welsh Development Agency was doing a good job in attracting inward investment, and to this day many people still don’t understand why it was done away with.
A comment to the previous post seemed to provide an answer:
“If any target should be in your sites (sic) in terms of Wales’s failing economy, it should be the former First Minister ‘Saint’ Rhodri Morgan. It was he, in a temper tantrum, midway through a phone call with the CEO of the Welsh Development Agency, threw his toys out of the pram when his instruction that the WDA should spend a chunk of it’s budget in a constituency of Cardiff where a certain Mrs Morgan was sitting MP. The CEO politely advised that this request could prove difficult because Cardiff was not in an EU Assisted Area . . . A person present . . . related that the First Minister threw his phone across the room. When he had calmed down (10 minutes later) he rang the CEO back and said that he was scrapping the WDA and bringing it’s functions under Assembly control. The CEO replied ‘Congratulations First Minster, you have just ruined the economy of Wales’ . . . In the 1980’s, 1990’s and into the 2000’s Wales, largely but not exclusively, due to WDA activities, secured 22% of all inward investment into the UK, an incredible achievement . . . Sadly, the Assembly, with it’s suspicion and dislike of any ‘specialisms’ and groaning under the dead hand of so many ‘Sir Humphreys’ presided over the rapid decline of inward investment so that today, it stands at 2% of the UK figure. When the WDA was scrapped, Development Agencies in other countries were delighted . . . I was present at the party held by the Scottish Development Agency to celebrate the demise of it’s principal competitor for inward investment. English Estates, the Development Agency for England, was equally delighted for the same reason. That’s the real story of Wales’s decline as an economic force . . . It will be a huge challenge to reverse this decline, but with the right approach, and a massive change of attitude in Cardiff Bay it conceivably could be achieved.”

This contribution was reinforced in an e-mail from another source which, after a few tweaks, I’m allowed to publish as you see below. This source was also close to the action at the time in question.
“I don’t know (the writer of the comment), but the account with regard to Graham Hawker (CEO) telling Rhodri Morgan he’s screwed the Welsh economy is correct.
While there is much talked about the WDA and it’s dealings in its early to mid years, in its later life it was an organisation of people (predominantly Welsh people) who actually gave a fuck about trying to lift the prosperity of the country. To this day, I am convinced that the termination of the WDA was done out of both jealousy by Welsh Gov and also a disregard by WDA to service the needs and wants of Ministers as they became more and more demanding for information from the organisation. It was not designed to service Welsh Government. It was designed to deliver economic development to external customers and it did it well.
To be fair to Hawker, he had instigated a re-organisation programme that would have addressed some of the issues, but Morgan had made his decision for the bonfire of the quangos. Hawker had resigned in front of Senedd committee. He made Morgan look stupid, who then asked him publicly to reconsider his resignation. He didn’t and he left.
Following Hawker, Gareth Hall was installed as Welsh Gov’s puppet CEO. Rhodri Morgan stated publicly that WDA staff would not see any change in the transition to Welsh Gov. That was total bollocks. There was a culture of cleansing any entrepreneurial spirit and drive in the organisation and a clear move from answering to the WDA board to Ministers. Hall was very close to Marc Clement of Swansea Uni fame. The WDA was being steered by Andrew Davies as Econ Dev Minister at the time, again with close links to Swansea. Make of that what you will.
It is clear that the politicisation of economic development has killed off any hope of raising Wales’s GDP above 75% of the UK average. We are still below it and I blame total and utter mismanagement of EU funds coupled with what you write about regularly – pushing funding to the third sector ‘economy’, crap pet projects (Cardiff Airport) and shysters.
Welsh Gov is a broken organisation. It cannot deliver economic development, full stop.
The wind up of the WDA is a case study of how to destroy exemplar economic development practice and then replacing it with fantasy policies of inclusion, sustainable development, socialist ideologies and then paying those organisations who advocate such tripe to turn up in the Senedd committees to back you up.”
Most students of Welsh politics know that Rhodri Morgan was the kind of man Doctor Johnson would have described as ‘clubbable’; a man who could be relied on for the witty quip or the diverting anecdote, but hard work was not really his bag.
The manner of the WDA’s demise tells us a lot about Rhodri Morgan and the Labour Party. Both quite happy to destroy what they cannot control however damaging such a course of action might be for Wales.
The incident also exposes the damning contradiction of ‘Welsh’ Labour – forever banging on about employment, blaming ‘London’ or the Tories for Wales not having enough decent jobs, but the beast itself is ideologically and temperamentally opposed to the business and commerce that would provide good jobs because it cannot control them.
‘Keep Wales poor, keep Wales dependent, keep Wales voting Labour’?
The first source reminds us that with the WDA gone Wales’ share of the UK’s inward investment fell from 22% to 2%. While the second source tells that the loss of the WDA saw the rise of the third sector, which is under the control of the Labour Party because the ‘Welsh Government’ controls the purse funding.
To the point where, in the parallel dimension that is Wales, third sector bosses receive awards for achievements in business.
Port Talbot and Afan Women’s Aid is a well-funded third sector body where – as with all third sector bodies – most of the money goes on salaries. Yet in Wales the third sector is regarded as ‘business’. Click to enlarge.
From 2007 until 2011 Labour was in coalition with Plaid Cymru, but Plaid made no attempt to bring back the WDA, for Plaid Cymru is another party made up of social workers, academics and others who think making profits and creating jobs is dirty.
‘Filthy capitalism, innit!’
Much better to live on hand-outs from England. Then enjoy the power of patronage that goes with distributing someone else’s money without the bother of creating it. That is, without the hard work involved organising a national economy.
Which is exactly how the Labour Party views devolution.
And explains why the cycle of decline will continue after next May’s election when Labour will fall short of a majority and need another coalition with Plaid Cymru to stay in power. Plaid Cymru will jump at the opportunity.
And Wales will continue to decline . . . with regular ‘dead cat on the table’ episodes of virtue signalling.

BRIGHTON GREENS DISCOVER GOWER
In my younger days I spent a lot of time on Gower. Oh yes. An aunt and uncle had a house above Port Eynon when such properties could be bought cheaply because most tourists came from within a radius of 40 or 50 miles. They came for a day trip or a holiday, but few of them thought of moving there permanently.
It was on their doorstep, they could visit whenever they liked.
School holidays spent crabbing at Port Eynon were succeeded by teenage years fishing just about everywhere for bass, with Worm’s Head a favourite spot.
In the twenty-first century it was inevitable I suppose that Gower would attract the eco-colonists, those who want to ‘live off the land’ . . . usually someone else’s land, often thanks to big dollops of public funding, and invariably by ignoring planning regulations.
And lo! it has come to pass.
To read the WalesOnline report from which the above image is taken just click here.
The Furzehill project is the brainchild of the Ecological Land Cooperative of Brighton. That is Brighton on the south coast of England. What attracts them to Wales is the One Planet lunacy, which proclaims that in order to reduce Wales’ carbon footprint people must be attracted to Wales to farm virgin land, burn wood, drive vehicles, and generally impose themselves on what were often pristine landscapes.
This is virtue signalling, big time, introduced when Jane Davidson was Minister for the Environment, Sustainability and Housing from 2007 to 2011. This may also have been the period when the ‘Welsh Government’s ‘All Farmers are Bastards’ strategy was formulated. (Was ‘Game Show Gary’ [ahem] ‘advising’ Davidson?)
Nominally, Davidson was AM for Pontypridd, but she didn’t give a toss about Ponty. She was in Corruption Bay to promote her environmentalist friends’ agenda. The rest of the Labour Party could see the advantage in this because it gave scope for virtue signalling on a global stage while putting the boot into rural electorates that refuse to vote Labour.
Davidson went on to become an academic (of sorts) and an even more outspoken advocate for eco-invaders like herself.
Here’s Davidson’s book on her work in government that culminated in One Planet Developments (OPD) and Future Generations legislation. Which have done nothing for us Welsh (it wasn’t intended to) but has achieved brownie points for a party and a system that, while running Wales into the ground, gets plaudits from people like Nikhil Seth who know sod all about Wales.
Furzehill is important, and should be watched, for the following reason.
Up until now OPDs have argued that they improve marginal land or even bring life back to abandoned farms. But Gower is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AOUB). The first area given AOUB status in the whole of this island.
I expect Swansea council to refuse planning permission for these ‘hobbit houses’. If that happens, then there will almost certainly be an appeal to the ‘Welsh Government’. And if those clowns allow the Furzehill project to proceed then National Parks will be the next target for the eco-colonists.
Which makes this application the thin end of the wedge. So watch it carefully. Click here for the council planning portal and enter 2020/0744/FUL into the Search box.

THE LABOUR COUNCILLOR WHO DESTROYED YMCA WALES
For those unfamiliar with the area, the Llansamlet ward is on the east side of Swansea, above Bonymaen and east of Morriston, straddling the M4. At its edge, Birchgrove runs into Skewen merging Swansea with Neath.
It was an area where the Welsh language was still strong when I was a boy, and Swansea’s first Plaid Cymru councillor was elected by Llansamlet’s voters in the youthful form of my old mate Dr John Ball.
Since then, it’s been pretty much downhill. The ward has been represented by a succession of Old Labour time-servers, enlivened recently by a few exotic imports.
I’m thinking now of Robert (‘call me Bob’) Clay, privately-educated former MP for Sunderland North and his Austrian-born wife Uta. Both moved on in 2017 and I’m told that these devout Marxists now live in a very agreeable detached property in rural Carmarthenshire.
Llansamlet returned another four Labour councillors at the 2017 elections, among them Maureen ‘Mo’ Sykes, of whom I have written before. To remind you . . . Mo Sykes was CEO of YMCA Wales yet under her ‘leadership’ things went to hell. To the extent that YMCA Wales ceased to exist.
The organisation leaked money, she herself left under a big cloud in July 2014, YMCA Wales went into administration in September, the jewel in the crown – Newgale Outdoor Education Centre in Pembrokeshire – was flogged off for £507,000 in June 2015, and the abandoned branches of YMCA Wales were told to affiliate to YMCA England.
They were welcomed with open arms by YMCA England for adopting the ‘national brand’.
‘Our Welsh cousins’ Urgh. Click to enlarge
So in the age of devolution we took another step backward. The ‘Welsh Government’, which had funded Mo Sykes and should have been asking what the fuck had gone wrong, showed no interest. After buying a nice detached house on a quiet street in Clydach (for a surprisingly low price) Sykes was handed a safe seat for the 2017 city council elections.
And now, if my sources are correct, she’s going home to the Six Counties after living off the public purse for years and doing her bit to integrate Wales into England.
If so, good riddance.

LEENA SARAH FARHAT
Soon after the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis Nation.Cymru insulted us with an article by Leena Sarah Farhat telling us that Wales was full of racist cops. I made a comment, suggesting she apologise to our police, but my comment was removed. Bizarrely, left up were comments from an unhinged wokie (not from Muskogee) attacking me in very personal terms!
This moron seemed to think I’d deleted my comment, and even when told he’d taken a wrong turn he kept marching purposefully into the bog. I’ve had dealings with him before, and he’s typical of his kind. Because I’d called him ‘little boy’ or something he tried to brand me a paedophile by suggesting I thought I was dealing with a child!
No, ‘Alan’, I’m know exactly what I’m dealing with, son. A twat.
It got so fractious on the state-subsidised mouthpiece for Plaid Cymru run by the saintly Ifan Morgan Jones that he had to pull all the comments. Something he had to do again on Friday when reporting that Martin Shipton, Chief Correspondent of the Western Mail, had lost his judging job at the Book of the Year Awards, run by Literature Wales, after being targeted by the wokies. (Tell me about it!)
(And if you want a definition of colonial establishment, look no further than Literature Wales.)
But I digress. Who is Leena Sarah Farhat?
From what I could gather, she works at Aberystwyth University. She is also Diversity Officer for the Welsh Liberal Democrats, and their candidate for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr. I’m sure she knows Castell Newydd Emlyn and Llanfihangel Rhos-y-Corn like the back of her delicate hand.
Anyway, later that evening I had one of the strange e-mails I get quite regularly. What I’m describing is the internet age’s equivalent of some bloke emerging out the shadows, collar pulled up and hat pulled down, looking furtively around before handing me the slip of paper that will unravel the mystery.
Or maybe I watch too much film noir.
The terse message contained a link, which I was loath to open in case it contained a virus. But I took a chance and the link took me here. To begin with, I wasn’t sure where I’d landed (I feared it might be one of those pornographical sites I’ve read about), but as I took it in I realised it was some kind of social media platform with people asking Leena Sarah Farhat questions.
Some of her answers were quite strange, others disturbing. Here’s a selection.
Make of it what you will, but here’s my interpretation. Here we have another ‘progressive’ party desperate to be seen to be ‘inclusive’ recruiting someone on whom they haven’t done enough checks, and who turns out to be, if not anti-Semitic, then certainly tacking towards that port of call.
With Plaid Cymru it was Sahar Al-Faifi, with Labour . . . well, take your pick, and now, not to be left out, the Lib Dems will incur the wrath of the Board of Deputies. Good.
Both the headline and the opening paragraph report that Agxio is based in Aberystwyth. Yet according to Companies House Axgio’s address is actually in leafy Dorking, in Surrey.
What’s more, Agxio is a one-man band, and that one man is Dr Stephen Christie. To read Dr Christie’s Linkedin bio he’s been there, done that, and got the T-shirt. It’s only a matter of time before that photo on his mantelpiece of great-uncle Hamish in his pith helmet makes way for a Nobel Prize.
From Linkedin we learn that since 2011 Christie has been CEO of Neural Insights Ltd, another company based in Dorking. His wife is the only other director. The latest accounts show a company where liabilities exceed assets, though the figures are small. The accounts are ‘filleted’.
Then there’s his chairmanship of MemberMatch Ltd, which helps golfists find playing partners. But he doesn’t seem to have ever been a director, let alone chairman. The latest unaudited financial statement reveals another company in the red.
Dr Christie’s only other extant company, formed in August 2018, is Inbotiqa Ltd. This has Net Liabilities of £107,131 for 2019; which was, admittedly, a big improvement on 2018. The accounts are unaudited.
And it looks similar with Agxio, which is getting funding from the Development Bank of Wales. Dr Currie seems to have spent a great deal of his time figuring out the share issues, just check the filing history.
Don’t get me wrong, Dr Stephen Christie might be a very clever bloke, but his greatest talent may be issuing and selling shares rather than producing anything, or creating jobs.
Furthermore, his ‘presence’ in Aberystwyth may be no more than a letter-box, and so I question whether Agxio should be receiving a penny of Welsh public funding.
To begin with, Coronavirus seems to have impacted on the Conservative vote as if the party’s voters had been confined to care homes; down 11 percentage points from the April poll to 35% for Westminster elections. Labour is up 4 to 39% and Plaid Cymru also up 4 to 15%.
For Welsh Parliament elections, the figures are (constituency first, list second):
Those figures were fairly predictable. Of more interest were the responses when people were asked questions such as: “If there was a referendum tomorrow on Wales becoming an independent country and this was the question, how would you vote? Should Wales be an independent country?”
In answer, 25% said Yes, but 54% said No. When asked whether the Assembly should be abolished, 25% said Yes, 48% said No.
To the multi-option constitutional question the responses were:
As you’re probably aware, a great deal has been made of a figure of 33% in favour of independence. This figure is only arrived at when respondents are given the stark choice between doing away with devolution or going for independence. When the returns were:
Certainly, these findings are generally encouraging. But there’s a long way to go. What I extrapolate from these polls is the following:
Devolution is increasingly discredited. After more than two decades of failure it is under pressure from both those who want independence and those who want integration with England. (Which is what abolishing the Senedd would amount to.)
Plaid Cymru is making little progress despite the increase in numbers prepared to consider independence. There is clearly scope for other parties, especially if those parties are more focused on Wales and Welsh issues.
No account is taken in these polls of how events in Scotland could impact on Wales. I believe that Scotland becoming independent would greatly increase the numbers in Wales choosing independence.
There’s a lot to play for in next year’s elections. And beyond.

FACEBOOK
As you may know, following a complaint by Jake Berry, the MP for Rossendale and Darwen, currently building a property empire on Ynys Môn, Facebook took down the links I’d posted to the articles about him on this blog.
Well now I’m locked out of my Facebook account altogether, yet it appears to still be open to others. There seems to be no appeal process so is there any way I can just close my Facebook page?
