How very true!

Plaid Cymru is a political party and stand candidates in elections, by definition, it’s organised along constituency boundaries. Yes Cymru is different in that it can organise along community (sometime not geographical) lines. It’s important to understand that, like Yes Scotland, it is not controlled by nor restricted to one political party.

In the case of Yes Scotland it also included Independent, Labour, Greens and Socialist parties who stood in elections against the SNP at election time. There was no attempt in Scotland by the SNP to control the Yes campaign, which also had diverse groups of crofters, farmers, inner city campaign groups, even a Gaelic language campaign group in the Islands, and a whole host of other diverse community organisations. This was part of its success. The SNP did not see YES taking away its support for independence, more like expanding the reach of the message and campaign, so made no attempt to control it.

In Wales, we see Plaid Cymru treating the YES campaign as a threat and trying to control it, which says more about Plaid Cymru and the dire situation it’s in.

To show the difference, the first chairman of YES Scotland was Dennis Canavan a Labour MP, from the ‘old tradition’, a kind of SO Davies in Lothian. He was deselected by ‘new Labour’ and won his seat as an independent MSP, a tireless campaigner for devolution who, in the event, came out in favour of independence. If such a figure emerged in Wales, then that is another string in the bow for independence, not a threat to it.

Price was the wrong choice.

I actually chatted a week or so before the declaration of result with a retired Daily Post political journalist. On finding out I was a Plaid member he asked what I thought would be the result and expressed great surprise when I said Wood will come a poor third, Rhun will take runner-up and Price would win but will ultimately prove to be a disastrous choice. He thought Wood was a dead cert to win it outright in the first round. Rhun would have been the best choice. He at least understands economic reality – something laughably lacking in the other two and stood a chance of at least standing still. Price will see a further decline of electoral support that may well prove fatal.

Since then we have seen Price’s Plaid declare opposition to all things nuclear – then promptly abstain in the Arsembly.

And the most comical thing – the free membership offer. After spending several years piss-taking Labour for their 2 quid deal with limited voting rights, Plaid promptly give free membership with full rights. Truly the stuff of farce. It will quickly become the political wing of the Students Union in Wales.

Not familiar with chapel communities in Ceredigion , or elsewhere for that matter, but the principle of enabling competent people from within communities to take key roles in any of these “initiatives” must be far better than having carpetbaggers of dubious pedigree getting lavish funding. Typically all they offer is bags of verbal fluency yet they waltz in to “educate” us natives, tackling “ishoos” and showing us better ways of behaving. As I write this I get visions of early Christian missionaries doing much the same in the colonies. There again, full circle, we are about the last colony.

Perhaps they have different chapels in Ceredigion, Dafis, but I was raised that virtue does not come with wealth nor by elevating public stature.

to go all Swansea on you. I get suspicious of people who live in posh houses, descend into poor communities then put in multiple applications for £1million grants, claiming they intend to help the disadvantaged. It’s not what you say, nor what you own. It’s what you do.

For example note the various positions held by senior third sector executives and sometimes downright cronies in the supervisory roles for the police, social services, health education, housing associations, ombudsman [surely that must be changed to ombudsperson!!?]. Prime example who must be known to Jac [not personally] is the lady who featured some time ago in an article of his viz Rose Mutale Merrill (née Nyoni) who was once head of the Care Council for Wales whilst being the chair of a womens aid group. It would be worth looking at how many male social workers were reprimanded versus the number of female SW’s during her tenure bearing in mind the perception is that it is a female dominated profession. Where did Sophie Howe come from and the current Ombudsman – third sector, labour or other quango connections?. Neil Mcevoy hit some raw nerves hence had to be pushed to the fringe by some attack dogs who were not obvious to start with. NRW accepting nuclear mud dumping from England – who is in charge there and it is the NR for Wales not England!?

And don’t forget the bit part played by Plaid Cymru where some of their ilk have levered into some of these plum jobs – bet none of them pay less than £70,000 per year plus add ons?

While they can get votes by blaming Thatcher – yes you still hear the people in the caffs echoing this sentiment – nothing will be done for Wales. The colonialists once extracted coal with other people toil [& jobs [provided] now they just extract the money and leave us with rubbish? At least Thatcher cleaned up the coal tips.

A fraud and a fantasist who, in any sensible country, would have been told to sling her hook a long time ago. But people like her are welcomed into Wales! (Not by us, obviously, but certainly by those who claim to be running things.)

On a selfie piece-to-camera posted on YouTube, Denise Kingsley (nee Acton) says “I am currently and soon to obtain a Doctorate in History”. That video was uploaded in 2012. So does she now possess a Phd? In the video she also claims she is an internationally renowned historian and sociologist. I suspect this lady is a fraud and fantasist.
