Who do you think you are David Smith? Just a chopsy COWARD! I have not seen a “David Smith” listed amongst the PEDW objectors to LLUEST Y GWYNT !
Why was that if you are so “clever”? You’re a complete waste of space by the look of it!!
If you live in North Wales….then WHY did you not put a “clever” objection on the PEDW site re Lluest y Gwynt, near Pumlumon ?
Others on this site regularly are missing on that PEDW site as well!!
Is you raison d’etre merely to “chopse” on here?

If the people on this blog are really fighting for WALES, why did so few of them make a proper objection via the Welsh Covt’s PEDW site , to the LLUEST Y GWYNT wind farm near Pumlumon and Ponterwyd, North Ceredigion??
One can see ALL who objected by clicking on “Lluest y Gwynt on PEDW”. I objected, but not many who frequent this site did.
So what do these people actually DO to defend Wales from these monstrosities?
They had a chance to OBJECT to the Welsh Govt re this really damaging wind “farm” , but they could not be “bothered” !!

Subject: Letter to the Editor re Flash-Flooding of River Wye.

Dear Editor,
 I recently sent a letter to the Hereford Times regarding the severe danger via flash-flooding,  to the city of Hereford, Ross and other places in the Wye Valley, which will 
be caused by the erection of up to 70 new gigantic wind farms in the Cambrian Mountains of Wales. The list of wind farms can be seen by googling “CPRW list of proposed Welsh wind farms.”
   One such wind farm is called  “Lluest y Gwynt” ,near Aberystwyth and Pumlumon in North Ceredigion……..the birthplace and catchment area of both the mighty
 Severn and the beautiful Wye.
The Welsh Govt allowed a period of objection via Govt web-site called PEDW. For Lluest y Gwynt,that period ended on June 10th. There were more than 351 listed objections, which can be found by Googling
“Lluest y Gwynt objections via PEDW”.
 In case readers think I’ve been scare-mongering, they should peruse these words below from the objection made by the bona fide ,extremely concerned “Llandovery Pylon Community Action Group”.
Llandovery is 40 miles east of me and about 35 miles south of Pumlumon. 
Yet look at the flooding concern expressed in their PEDW input :-

 “9. Flood risk, drainage failure and downstream consequences.
This development sits within a sensitive upland catchment whose natural drainage
systems regulate water flow into river valleys across the region. Construction activity
that disturbs ground cover, intercepts natural drainage, and compacts soils risks
accelerating surface run-off and destabilising watercourses. The blanket bog and
upland peat of this area acts as a natural sponge, moderating the passage of rainfall
into river systems downstream. Compromising that function through large-scale
ground disturbance poses a demonstrable flood risk to communities already
vulnerable to flooding in the valleys below. We submit that the hydrological
assessment provided with this application is insufficient to demonstrate that flood risk
will not be materially increased by this development.
We strongly urge PEDW to refuse this application. The Lluest y Gwynt Wind Farm
must not be considered in isolation. Its approval would set in motion a chain of
consequences — for the landscape, the ecology, and the communities of mid and
south Wales — that extends far beyond this single site and far beyond what this
application, as presented, has been assessed against.”
   
 I’m afraid that “downstream consequences….far beyond” include Ross-on-Wye and the fine historic city of Hereford!!
They also include Ironbridge, Shrewsbury, Worcester, Tewkesbury, Gloucester and all parts of the Severn Valley!!
   “Lluest y Gwynt” is only ONE wind farm in the Welsh hills. There are another SIXTY-NINE in the offing
……….and SEVERAL of them can cause flash-floods in the Severn and Wye Valleys!!!! Make NO mistake!!
   Please object to your councillors, MPs and all newspapers in both England and Wales!! Please help stop this madness!!

I can’t be bothered with writing blogs. Not enough people read them….and I don’t have time.
I hope you send the “CPRW list of 70 proposed new wind farms ” to the Sunday Times. If they need more info, you are welcome to give them my name and email. I can give them some stuff. I’m pretty sure that Ioan and Terry could do likewise. That’s a very important paper. Trouble is….like the Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph it MAINLY fights for England.
Imagine the COMBINED FURORE in those 3 London papers if anywhere NEAR the Cotswolds was threatened with wind turbines of 200ft….let alone 820ft .. like the ones coming to Wales.
Page 7 of the Cambrian News today has the headline “Plans to build 27 wind turbines near Tregaron”. It’s called NANT Y MAEN wind farm east of Tregaron!! EDF are behind it.
I hope your bloggists do SOMETHING about it!!

Wales is being wrecked and only 4 or 5 of us are really spreading the message to LARGE NUMBERS!

One reason is that quite some time ago the WM and the DP stopped publishing my letters. So I stopped writing them. Yes, there are other newspapers, but I can’t be bothered. Though the Sunday Times has been in touch recently, picking my brains, and promising to do a big piece on Bute. Whether it happens is another matter.

As things stand I’m quite happy to plough my furrow on this blog. So I’ll do what I do, and you do what you do. I promise not to pester you into starting a blog, and in return you must stop repeating yourself ad nauseum about letters to the press. Is that a deal?
