In reply to <a href="https://jacothenorth.net/blog/rural-housing-take-a-truth/#comment-2183">Marconatrix</a>.

Yes, I found Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd on the FCA Industrial and Provident Societies website, but Companies House would give more of the basic information. Further, if they were registered charities then their accounts would be available free on the Charity Commission website, but the Annual Report and Accounts costs £12 a year from the FCA. Another complaint I have is that housing associations have received tens - possibly hundreds - of millions in grants from the 'Welsh' Government, yet are exempt from FoI requests. Council housing departments are covered by FoI legislation.

If housing associations are the fluffy and loveable outfits they want us to believe they are, then they should be less secretive.

I also believe that housing associations are now nothing but private companies, and should be treated as such. Subject to the same laws and regulations as other private landlords and no longer receiving public funding.

Point of Information, Jac. I&P Socs are registered with the Registry of Friendly Societies, now somewhere in the bowels of the Financial Conduct Authority (formerly the FSA) who live at 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5SH. Audited accounts and annual returns similar to those required by Companies' House have to be sent in each year, and are a matter of public record. The associations you're interested in may also be charities, in which case they'll have to make returns to the Charities' Commission, which are also a public record. Good luck!

All LDPs need to be reviewd and, where necessary, revised in light of new stats and projections. Also, LDPs should meet local need not pander to the colonisation policies of the Planning Inspectorate or the 'growth at any cost' policies of some councils.

I'm currently writing a post on the Cardiff LDP. Suffice it to say that it is the biggest load of con-trick bollocks and grossly inflated projections I have come across. Even worse than Denbighshire. But this time I don't think we can blame the Planning Inspectorate, the culprits are to be found in Cardiff city hall and other places not far away.

Insightful as ever Jac but will anyone else speak out or take action, I doubt it

Off topic I thought you’d appreciate reading how a real First Minster (Alex Salmond) leads his nation and deals with Tory Ministers and Europe, Comatose Carwyn should take note http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/alex-salmond/alex-salmond-open-letter-to-william-hague_b_5231038.html
