Hear, hear! To a very large extent. The only bit I would ever-so-slightly disagree with is that, judging by the obesity problems we have, we SHOULD be told what to eat… at least some of us should. I am fortunate not to have that physical and psychological (as I believe it is in part psychological) problem. But there is a need for better education on nutrition, food, diet, and its impact on our health and that of others, plus its demand on precious resources.

Not a promising start to 2025 with Elon Musk using up loads of personal battery power going after Keir Starmer’s record on racially focussed sex crimes in the UK. I deplore the track record of successive London regimes in failing to deal with decades of crimes mostly committed by adherents of that known as religion of peace by those with a serious sense of irony. However Musk is hardly the sort of guy who can get people seriously interested in an issue because in a few weeks time he’ll be crapping his muck over something completely different.

As for the London political parties they have already obtained some reports from an inquiry, yet no politician has got stuck into the hard work of adopting and implementing its detailed recommendations. Such idleness is feedstock for the likes of Musk who probably doesn’t give a shit about the victims of said crimes. The greatest irony is seeing Tories who were in government some 6-7 months ago yapping away like they had never been near the levers of power.

Turning to other things sent to try us. Now evident even to the most stunted of brains that Rachel’s budget of 31/10 amounts to a self inflicted wound of major magnitude. Apart from refusing to modify or reverse the most damaging parts the top tier of Labour’s tone deaf leadership are busy making sure that the ace bungler Milliband will have his full planned budget ( and probably some overruns) to piss down the drain on green projects where little or no cost-benefit-value analysis has been undertaken. Recent experience with flat weather conditions – chilly, little or no wind and no sunshine – teaches us that good old gas and conventional power generation should still feature in the mix of power sources otherwise the bodies will pile up in the streets along with the uncollected rubbish and broken down EV’s.

There's not much of the "industrial" bit here in Wales as environmentalists like to fetch their goods in from overseas manufacturers, despite the fact that the City of London is the major hub in the flow of funding, including dollops of dark or bent money from all sorts of dodgy sources.
