Yep...so much theft. But new AI algorithms being used now to detect pre crime thats another huge worry. OMG I laugh watched the Minority Report the other night...good film and at the time it was thought provoking for its time 25 years ago..ooops...but here we are with facial rec being used by the Met Police and Trumps world. I get that crime is a huge issue and rising but I do wonder where does it stop.
MHPA have an issue with tenders being stolen when ppl leave them on their mooring and take their boats out...gone when they come back...so its an excuse too for more "watching"...

Yes, but we used to have what the Wgov spent over 25K monthly now its every 6 months and of course what goes through the DBW is subject to Banking Client confidentiality.

Also the Hike today by Ofgem. Well apparently I am reliably told that is to adjust for the price we have had to pay to the owners of the Turbines to shut them down the millions so that like this hot summer, we havent needed - compensation and likewise we have had to pay more for gas...The problem we have is incompatibility re inertia. Modern Grids run on alternatinve current, switching direction fifty times a second. That 50hertz requency is important. When it drops or goes to high, bits of the grid can see a problem and trip out to protect itself. This wasnt an issue when all our elec came from coal gas or nuclear. Each of the grids involves mechanical generators, with heavy moving parts syched to provide a smooth 50 hertz output. So when there is a problem, all the energy carried by those moving parts ...their inertia...slows the fall in frequency acting as brakes to stop the network from breaking down...due to capacity overload...so...that built in frequency doesnt come with renewables..wind farms do have moving parts, obviously but they generate direct current and changed to 50hertz alternating current and that requires something called an inverter. ...so the National Grid, not being fit for purpose because we havent got a unified system to deal with flow and are not able to plan or forecast demand...its very complicated...but its a huge problem no one will talk about...Except in Switzerland of course!! where else..lol.

It's wealth that got them all started. Soros and likes of Gates were busy making money for a long time but once they got to a point the business of making loot got boring and the meddling "I know best" gene took over. Around that time they should have been put to sleep ...permanently !

It's not simply that Soros and others are wealthy, it's the fact that they set up 'charities' or NGOs, which then get billions in federal funding, which is used to push certain agendas, control narratives, and in other ways damage the USA.
A succinct "wrap" of why wind power is " politicians' hot air"

Dr Dieter Helm, Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Oxford, offers a thorough explanation. Green lobbyists and supportive politicians, he explains, tend only to point to the low headline marginal costs associated with renewables, ignoring the vast hidden costs it took to generate the ‘same’ output. This includes upfront investments like upgrading the grid, building new pylons, the complex storage systems which intermittent power sources require for periods of unusually low pressure or sunlight, not to mention the vast sums committed in annual net zero subsidies. Dolly Parton wasn’t talking about renewable energy when she said it, but I am reminded of her iconic quip, ‘You’d be surprised how much it costs to look this cheap.’

As Professor Helm notes, these factors are rarely mentioned in the national conversation, though they will certainly be reflected in the ultimate bill. And this presents a serious problem for the government. While it cleaves to its net zero soundbites, a gulf is emerging between stated and revealed preferences, between ministers’ Panglossian pronouncements and the measurable reality in people’s bills and wallets. The longer this dishonesty continues, the greater the backlash will be.

The de-industrialisation of the West was deliberate.

I can recall in history lessons learning of the panic in the UK when Germany started producing more pig iron late in the 19th century. Seems funny now.

The modern reality is that goods were manufactured by people who don't matter to the ruling elites. So those jobs were shipped overseas. For the future, the USA had Silicon Valley and its virtual control of the internet. The UK had the City of London, above the law, doing business through tax havens, and making those who mattered very rich.

To keep the mob happy it was pretended that it was all being done to save the planet.

One scam laid on another. But it's no longer working. Partly thanks to Trump.
