Given that wind turbines have a life expectancy of 15 – 20 years, if second-hand parts have been delivered to Hendy then does this suggest the project is a short-term thing? Before folding? And who cleans up?

I’m convinced Taylor had advance notice of Griffiths’ decision. And I’m also convinced that a number of other people knew. Wasn’t machinery turning up at the site before the announcement was made?

The Moblake companies were formed in mid-October 2018. The 2-page Filleted Accounts for Moblake Ltd for y/e 30.04.2019 show assets of £427,113. So the money was already coming in. Presumably from the Bute boys.

Less than a month before the Moblake companies were formed Oliver Millican and Lawson Steele formed Windward Generation Ltd, with Radford joining 6 days later. Then, just 5 days before the birth of the Moblake quads, the name was changed to Bute Energy Ltd. (Now it’s RSCO 34750 Ltd.) That was the first appearance of the Bute name.

Which means that in less than two weeks we see the change of name to Bute Energy, Moblake company formations, and Griffiths’ announcement. The three are definitely linked.

I would like to correct my comment above in that the Hendy Wind Farm website appears to have been created in 2013 but until the Moblake contact information was added in November or December 2018, the only update appears to have been from July 2014 in the “Latest News” sidebar with regard to their submission of a planning application to Powys County Council.

With regard to the change of directorship at Bryn Blaen in February 2020, that was when its sale was apparently finalised.

Speaking of for sale signs, U+I Plc declared a financial before tax loss of £86.7million in their Annual Report dated May 2021. Hendy Wind Farm is listed at page 50 of the report as part of “𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.”

Given that David Taylor campaigned for Griffiths in 2016 and that Griffiths, Taylor and Daran Hill (formerly of Positif) were all friends with Carl Sargeant and gave evidence at the inquest into the death, I would be surprised if Taylor didn’t have advance warning of Griffiths decision.
